Extract from the exhibition text of Nicole Seeberger:
… Album (Philately) shows seven small stamp-albums on a narrow tabletop, in which the artist arranges processed stamps from collections of Obwalden philatelists. However, the stamps do not appear in their common form, not in the quality in which they are of value to the collector. With arediscovered scissors, with which Zürrer made dozens of the finest paper cuts as a teenager, she cuts away the picture from its toothed frame and thus devalued the stamp, but not the message. Emptying and erasing images is an important part of her artistic working process, as well as tidying up and rearranging them, as she currently does in her albums with the emptied frames. In today’s media over-stimulation erasure can have a cathartic impact which is reinforced together with the meaning of the Latin word 'albus', which means 'white'.
